Aaron LeMieux | CEO & Founder

Aaron founded Tremont Electric in 2007, and by 2009, nPower® technology was patented and the first nPower® PEG was launched, the most acclaimed clean energy technology to emerge from the industrial rust belt city of Cleveland, Ohio, or anywhere, in a generation.

Before founding a clean energy startup, Aaron was a crisis and business turnaround manager for small-cap manufacturing companies in Northeast Ohio for over ten years, learning manufacturing technologies from the ground up in capital constrained environments. Aaron was an important consultant for the launch of Alcoa Subassembly and Logistics (ASL) a Just-In-Time facility serving the Freightliner division of Daimler Chrysler. Aaron collaborated with Stryker Howmedica Osteonics to develop a manufacturing method for implantable devices. Aaron has served in the US Naval Reserves.

With five granted patents to date, Aaron holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering. Aaron lives with his wife Jill and their two dogs Harvey and Bianca, in the company’s namesake neighborhood of Tremont in Cleveland, Ohio.

Charles Ames | President

Charles is a serial entrepreneur, having successfully started and grown three companies prior to joining Tremont Electric. With over fifteen years experience in senior management in high growth, technology driven ventures, he brings a practicing knowledge of advancing technical products from conception to commercialization. 

Charles began his career in high tech development at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory working on the US un-manned space program.

Charles holds a B.S. in Applied Science and an M.S. in Systems Analysis from Miami University. Charles is responsible for managing day-to-day operations, coordinating finance, development, marketing, sales, and HR functions to implement strategies and objectives as defined by the CEO. Charles also manages business relationships with the Company's key suppliers, partners, and customers.

Jill LeMieux | Vice President of Marketing

Jill has over 13 years of marketing experience with an international, household-electronics company. Her experience includes developing and launching new products, including a disruptive technology that's used to administer insulin to diabetic pets without a needle. Jill possesses expertise in branding and design, and is the founder and original editor of Mode, a magazine for women in direct sales.

Jill has also worked with the art directors at Walt Disney in the design and development of Disney-licensed products. 

Jill holds a B.A. with a major in Visual Communication and Design from Purdue University. She also has a M.S. in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. Jill is responsible for leading and executing Tremont Electric's marketing and communications strategy.

Benjamin Brooks| Director of Military Applications

Ben is a 12-year former active duty sailor of the United States Navy, with experience around the globe under grueling conditions in hostile environments. Ben's technical expertise in his field gave a unique advantage to the SEAL teams he embedded with, fortifying the SEALs with unprecedented levels of technology to use against their adversaries. Ben also lent his experiences to USSOCOM by vetting, testing and evaluating multiple pieces of equipment now available to all walks of the United States military under multiple programs of record.

Ben left the active duty side in order to finish his degree and is currently serving in the Navy Reserves at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He has earned subject matter expert status in Air, Land, and Sea warfare and currently serves as the N1 officer for the Navy Experimental Dive Unit Selected Reserve Component.

Dr. D. Dane Quinn | Advisory Board

DaneQuinnUniversity of Akron Professor D. Dane Quinn specializes in research into applied dynamical systems and mechanics, supported by NSF, DOE, NASA, and industrial partners. Professor Quinn focuses on complex systems and the role of nonlinearities in their response, with applications including rotordynamics, structural damping and energy transfer, as well as vibration-based energy harvesting.

Dr. Quinn has published over 40 papers in archival journals and has presented his work at numerous national and international scientific meetings. Professor Quinn has served as an Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, the ASME Journal of Computational and Nonlinear Dynamics, Mathematical Problems in Engineering, and on the editorial board of Nonlinear Dynamics.

Dr. Quinn was awarded the BME degree from Georgia Tech in 1991, and a Ph.D. from Cornell University's Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics in 1995.

Carol Latham | Board of Directors 

Carol Latham 2011 WOA Promotional PhotoA Member of the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame, Carol is the Founder of Thermagon, Inc., an internationally successful thermal conductive materials company serving the electronics industry. Since Thermagon's sale to Laird Technology in 2004, Carol has served as Chairman of the Board of Boston Power, Inc., a lithium ion battery startup, from 2006-2008, and is currently on the Board of Directors of Trivium Technologies, a brightness film technology start-up, the Board of Trustees of Ohio Wesleyan University, and the Board of New Bridge/Cleveland Center for Arts & Technology, whose goal is to nurture, train and change the lives of at-risk students and economically disadvantaged adults.  

Carol has been recognized for entreprenurial endeavors by Inc. Magazine and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year program.

 Anna Kocin | Office Manager, Customer Service

 

Anna is a customer service specialist experienced in consumer product sales, marketing, and fulfillment.

Anna has an associate's degree in business administration from Cleveland State University.

Harvey | Company Mascot

Harvey is a boxer. She has skills in sitting, shaking, and laying down. She can also 'circle' if you give her a treat.

Harvey especially likes chewing on a plastic foot and a rubber hot dog, each of which squeaks.
