Tremont Electric Wins 2nd Place at the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Association i-Stage
Cleveland, OH, October 19, 2010. Earlier this month the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced nine finalists for the 2010 i-stage competition. “The finalists selected for CEA’s i-stage competition embody the spirit of innovation that makes the consumer technology industry thrive,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president for events and conferences at CEA.
Yesterday during CEA’s Industry Forum the nine companies had the opportunity to present their next-gen technology in front of a panel of industry experts. Judges awarded Tremont Electric second place, $7,500, and the option to display at the CES Unveiled event in New York or Las Vegas.
Tremont Electric is a clean tech start-up who is leading the way in the field of scalable kinetic energy harvesting through its patented nPower® technology. The initial nPower® technology application for consumers is the nPower® PEG (Personal Energy Generator).
The nPower® PEG allows individuals, for the first time ever, to capture and store their personal kinetic energy generated from walking, running, or biking and use it for charging their hand-held electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, iPods, GPS). By placing the lightweight nPower® PEG vertically in a backpack, briefcase, or purse and going about daily activities, the user will have extra power when it is needed most. –While on the go.
Aaron LeMieux, nPower® inventor and CEO of Tremont Electric, says “i-stage has given Tremont Electric the opportunity to directly share nPower® with the consumer electronics world. I am grateful that Tremont Electric was selected as an i-stage finalist and received second place. 2011 is going to be a good year for Tremont Electric, and nPower® is on its way to being the ‘intel inside’ of renewable energy generation,” says LeMieux.
Tremont Electric, Inc. is a sustainable company that is dedicated to providing renewable energy to consumers around the world through a revolutionary technology called nPower®. nPower® technology is scalable and provides a range of product opportunities from small, implantable biomedical generators, to human-motion powered generators, to large commercial scale Wave Energy Converters. nPower® is not just a device-making technology, it is an industry-making technology. www.nPowerPEG.com
