This June, The Institute for Sustainable Development, a project of the North Carolina Research Triangle, including Duke University, certified Tremont Electric a "Green Plus" business.  Hooray!  

What's it mean to be Green Plus Certified?  

Created by the NC Research Triangle-based Institute for Sustainable Development, Green Plus is a business improvement program that provides a roadmap on triple bottom line sustainability issues for smaller enterprises across the United States.

"Triple bottom line" refers to a measurement of business success that includes not just profit, but people and planet.

1. SOCIAL: employee policies and community engagement
2. ENVIRONMENTAL: environmental impacts including water, waste, and energy use
3. ECONOMIC: overall organizational performance, such as planning and financial monitoring
